Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa

It was in a very central setting right on the lake. Plus, the hotel was near Lake Windermere.

Fabulous place with best staff and good food.

Everything was very clean, nonetheless we stayed for 1 night only. We loved the standard queen room which was air-conditioned. Central location was a plus. It took only 5 minutes to walk to St Martins Church bus stop.

Well-appointed accommodation with perfect location in front of the waterfront. Really nice building and rooms with a view.

Everything was simply really good. The stay here was really nice, liked the hotel, it was spotless with best possible location next to Lake Windermere and the centre and the lake side. Our room had a large bed and a great view. The bathroom was large, included a shower, a drier and terrycloth bathrobes.

The whole place was spotless, I liked it, and had INCREDIBLE staff and location. Friendliness from the whole staff.

such great stay in the pretty comfortable area. pretty clean great budget hotel, relatively quiet rooms. remote location, a 10-15 minute walking distance from the glebe. the hot drinks in lounge bar were very welcome.

Picturesque location, decent facilities. Charming staff, they were happy to help. Perfect rooms with climate control, comfortable armchairs and two large windows. Pool was amazing and beds were very comfy.

I had a restful stay here, pool was an added bonus. The hotel was clean enough and staff were superb, everything was perfectly fine. I loved the room, it was original and had a loft decor. Hot breakfast, exceptional service...

We recommend, to anyone staying in Bowness-on-Windermere. The view from deluxe queen room was amazing. Just a 5-minute stroll to the center.

We enjoyed all the hotel offered: good beds and ATTENTIVE staff. A sauna was available on site. The room faced the lake.

Bodega tapas bar is walking distance to the hotel. The views were stunning. We loved facilities and location, the property had absolutely everything we needed.
